Biography

Mónica Gómez has more than 30 years experience as a writer, performer (singer and guitarist), recording and teaching artist, and on-air talent.  Born in Mexico and raised in El Paso, on the Texas / Mexico border, her
concerts, educational programs, and professional presentations reflect her commitment to the power of the arts.

Performing songwriter:  Three elegantly simple CDs preserve the intimacy of her live performances, highlighting her remarkable voice, tightly crafted lyrics, and delicate guitar arrangements.  Her songs brim with substance.
      2004 and 2005 - Mónica performed for
Governor Rick Perry at the Texas Trade
      Delegation in Mexico City
as cultural emissary for Texas Commission on the Arts.
      May 2001 - She was the only solo U.S. artist invited by the People's Republic of
      China to perform in the
Meet in Beijing Arts Festival, a 3-week, 7-city tour with
      artists from around the world.
      Since 1995, Mónica has received consecutive annual
Special Awards from      
      ASCAP
, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers.  She has
      appeared at the Kerrville Folk Festival; the Napa Valley Music Festival; and the
      Chamizal Festival in El Paso, Texas, where she's also led numerous Songwriters'
      Circles and workshops.
